Dear ELS Scrabble Members,
Please be reminded to complete your punishment (all 2-letter hooks written) and study for tomorrow's test (SATIRE & SATINE stems).
And also remember to bring your Macbooks tomorrow.
Thanks.

Update on Scrabble Quiz (23/1/13) Details
Dear ELS Scrabble Members,
Please take note that starting from next week (23/1/13) onwards, Scrabble members are to bring their Macbooks for ELS Meetings to do their quizzes.
All members are to download Zyzzyva (Mac version) from http://zyzzyva.net/ at home before this Wednesday if you have not.
The Zyzzyva app (the one with the Z logo) can be found in the file downloaded. Once the app is opened, load and set CSW2012 as default (other lexicons are unnecessary as we will be using this one in competitions).
Procedures:
1. Open the app (a Welcome page will be shown) and press the question mark (?) button on the toolbar at the top.
2. For the quiz for STEM WORD, set the Quiz Type to "Anagram", Question Order preferably to "Random", and set the option beside the text box as "Anagram Match".
Type the stem word in the text box (e.g. ?SATIRE).
3. For the quiz for HOOK WORDS, set the Quiz Type to "Hooks", Question Order preferably to "Random", and set the option beside the text box as "Length", min. 2 max. 2 for the quiz for 2-letter hooks.
4. For both quizzes, set the timer to '25 seconds per response'.
5. Press 'OK' once you have finished the settings.
6. Type all the anagrams/hook words according to the letters given (instead of a blank, a random letter will be given). You will be allowed to press 'Next' once you have found the anagrams/hook words in the given letters. If you wish to skip, press 'Marked as Missed' and then 'Next'.
7. Once you have completed both quizzes, press Analyze Quiz and show the results to the respective EXCOs for them to record.
You should save your quizzes so as to keep track of your results. Please familiarize yourself with the steps at home in order to minimize problems and time delay.
And also, remember to study your words.
Thank you.
Regards,
Jun Khai

CCA Meeting on Wednesday (16/1/13)
Dear all ELS Members,
Firstly, wishing all of you a Happy New Year!
Next up, I have a few announcements to make.
1) CCA would resume this Wednesday (16/1/13) at 2pm at the Exam Room.
2) A form would be given out to you on Wednesday whether you would like to focus on Debate or Scrabble for the first part of the year.
* Sec 1's would automatically be in Scrabble.
Sec 2's would be able to attend both if they have the time and can manage it well.
Sec 3's and 4's would have to choose one.
3) For those who do not have the ELS Shirt yet have yet to pay, please bring $15 on Wednesday. Also, for those who have not had their ELS Badges or who have lost them, please find Jun Khai. Please pass the money to Willis.
4) For the Scrabble Boys, I hope that you have been practicing your Scrabble Words. Adrain would be giving you a test/surprise test. Those who do not have or lost their Notes, please inform Jun Khai as well.
5) The 2 slots for the Upper Secondary Emcees for Total Defense Day has not been filled yet. If I do not receive a reply by Tuesday night, we would randomly chose a person.
Thank you and see you on Wednesday.
Best Regards,
Shaun Tan
